2011 Academic All-Staters
Khristen Anderson
Durant High School
A member of the Student Council and calculus club, Anderson is the recipient of the Presidential Scholarship to the University of Tulsa. She is drum major for the Pride of Durant Marching Band and has received first and second place ratings at statewide curriculum contests. Outside of school, Anderson is active in her church youth group and has served on mission trips to Africa and New Orleans. She plans to major in chemical engineering at the University of Tulsa.
Lucas Battershell
Dale High School
Class valedictorian and Academic Bowl captain, Battershell was the top individual scorer at this year's state Academic Bowl Conference. He is a member of the school band, the National Honor Society and the Gifted and Talented Program. Outside of school, Battershell has served as a volunteer for the International Youth Finals Rodeo, basketball camp, Academic Bowl and Salvation Army. He plans to major in computer engineering at Oklahoma State University.
Sarah Bedell
Yukon High School
Class valedictorian and Advanced Placement Scholar with Distinction, Bedell serves as state treasurer for the Oklahoma Heritage Association and is chairman of the Yu-Can Coalition. At school, she is a member of the Student Council, serves as a student mentor, and is founder and chairman of the statistics club. Bedell is active in the Yukon community and has served as a speaker for many community events. She plans to attend Harvard University, majoring in engineering.
Eric Blosser
Owasso High School
A National Merit Finalist and class salutatorian, Blosser is captain of the swim team and a member of the National Honor Society. He is also on the school tennis team and runs cross country. Outside of school, Blosser enjoys volunteering with the YMCA and serves as an usher at his church. He plans to major in nuclear engineering at Texas A&M University.
Tyler Bowen
Yukon High School
An Advanced Placement Scholar with Honor, Bowen was the 2007 State of Oklahoma National Geographic Bee champion and National Bee finalist. At Yukon, he is the Academic Bowl team captain and is a member of the science club, National Forensics League and National Honor Society. Bowen has served as a coach for the freshman Academic Bowl team and has volunteered in the community with his church. He plans to major in history and political science at University of Notre Dame.
John Austin Bradshaw
Cherokee High School
Class valedictorian and Oklahoma Academic Scholar, Bradshaw was the Oklahoma Northwest Academic Conference top academic scorer. He is a member of the National Forensics League team, captain of the academic team, a Student Council representative and plays baseball. With more than 500 service hours, Bradshaw is an active volunteer at INTEGRIS Baptist Hospital and Kids Against Hunger. He plans to major in microbiology/pre-medicine at the University of Oklahoma.
Eric Breon
Eufaula High School
A National Merit finalist, Breon is a class valedictorian and a three-year member of the Oklahoma All-State Band. He is president of the National Honor Society and a member of the academic team. He is a member of the jazz band and is the accompanist for the school choir. For the past four years, Breon has served on the McIntosh County PRIDE Coalition, a drug and alcohol prevention and awareness program. He plans to major in music education at the University of North Texas.
Joseph Jerome Marigny Brown
Classen School of Advanced Studies
Named an Advanced Placement Scholar and INTEGRIS Health Minority Scholar, Brown is also the recipient of the Chi Zeta Outstanding Youth Award. At school, Brown is active in the Black Student Union, National Honor Society, Students Against Destructive Decisions and Student Council. He has been actively involved in Classen's vocal music program and serves the community by volunteering at the Regional Food Bank and through many of his church's community service programs. Brown plans to major in chemical engineering at Oklahoma State University.
Trent Brownen
Lindsay High School
A class valedictorian and Regent's Academic Scholar, Brownen has had perfect school attendance since kindergarten. He is treasurer of the National Honor Society, band president, senior class secretary, and a member of Student Council and Oklahoma Honor Society. Brownen plays in the marching and jazz bands and is captain of the academic team. He plans to major in pharmacy at Southwestern Oklahoma State University.
Mitchell Bryant
MacArthur High School
A National Merit finalist, Bryant is a member of the MacArthur Leadership Class of 2011. At MacArthur, he is the yearbook business manager, treasurer of the National Honor Society and a member of Student Council. Bryant has served as a People to People student ambassador and is a volunteer youth basketball referee. He plans to major in political science/pre-law at the University of Oklahoma.
Hunter Burke
Putnam City North High School
An Advanced Placement Scholar and Advanced Placement Chemistry Award recipient, Burke is a National Merit Commended Scholar. He is a varsity tennis player and a member of the Student Council, National Honor Society, Panther Pals, and serves as a Big Brother for incoming freshman students. Outside of school, Burke has participated in the Alzheimer's Association Memory Walk and has served as a Algebra I tutor and summer reading tutor. He plans to major in petroleum engineering at the University of Oklahoma or the University of Tulsa.
Zak Campbell
Dickson High School
A National Merit finalist, Campbell is class valedictorian and captain of the Academic Bowl team. He is a member of the Dickson Showcase Show Choir and participates in speech and debate. In 2009, Campbell was the regional Academic Bowl high scorer. In addition to attending Dickson High, Campbell is taking courses at Murray State College. He plans to continue his studies next year at Brown University.
Chase Chamberlain
Stratford High School
Named to the Oklahoma All-State Football Team, Chamberlain is a Wendy's High School Heisman state finalist. At Stratford, he is a member of the academic team and president of the Student Council, the senior class and the National Honor Society. Chamberlain is captain of the football team and competes in track and power lifting. In the community, Chamberlain volunteers weekly for a middle school reading program. He plans to pursue a law degree after first majoring in political science at Harvard College.
Junjun Chen
Oklahoma School of Science & Mathematics
A National Merit finalist, Chen is the winner of the Siemens Award for Advanced Placement. At OSSM, she is a member of the Junior Engineering Technical Society team that took third place at the national JETS TEAMS competition. Chen completed an OSSM computer science mentorship and plays the violin in the school orchestra. Outside of school, she plays the piano and volunteers at an animal shelter and public library. Chen plans to continue her studies as a computer science major.
Vivian Chen
Edmond Santa Fe High School
A National Merit finalist, Chen is an Advanced Placement Scholar with Distinction and a Presidential Scholar candidate. She is president of Santa Fe’s National Honor Society and co-captain of the First Robotics team. She is a member of Students Against Destructive Decisions and serves as a mentor through the Santa Fe Freshman Mentoring program. Outside of school Chen volunteers at the OU Health Sciences Center cell biology lab, tutors middle school students, and is active in her church youth group. She plans to attend Stanford University and major in physics and biology.
Caitlyn Cloud
Hominy High School
A member of the Oklahoma State Honor Society, Cloud is president of the Hominy Student Council and vice president of the National Honor Society. At school, Cloud serves as president of Teens for Christ, treasurer of the senior class and secretary of the choir council. In addition, Cloud serves on her church's youth council and has volunteered for several community events such as the Veteran's Day luncheon and Win-Win Week. She plans to major in biochemistry (pre-pharmacy) at either Oklahoma State University or the University of Tulsa.
Caleb Cook
Oklahoma School of Science & Mathematics
A semifinalist to the U.S. Physics Olympiad Team, Cook is the Siemens Advanced Placement male award winner for Oklahoma. He is a QuestBridge College Match Finalist to Princeton University and received the Chauncy Witcraft Award for Academic Excellence. Cook received the award for top overall student at OSSM’s Afton Regional Center and was involved in the Investigative Research Scholars Program. At OSSM, he completed a mentorship in physics and is a member of the Junior Engineering Technical Society team that took third place at the national JETS TEAMS competition. Cook has volunteered over 200 hours with the Grove Public Library and has been a varsity tennis player at Grove High School. He plans to major in physics at Harvard University.
Carl Cordero
Muskogee High School
A two-time winner of the Muskogee Rotary Club's 4-Way Speech Contest, Cordero has been active all four years in Muskogee's speech and drama program. He is co-president of the National Honor Society, president of the school's National Forensic League chapter and treasurer of the senior class. He is also active in Oklahoma Honor Society, science club and drama club. He has performed in many high school plays and musicals. In the community, Cordero volunteers with the Muskogee Regional Medical Center. He plans to major in nursing in college.
Tyler James Couch
Norman North High School
A National Merit finalist and Advanced Placement Scholar with Honors, Couch was named a Fellowship of Christian Athletes All-State Student Athlete. He is a three-year varsity football letterman, president of the Spanish National Honor Society and vice president of the National Honor Society. He is president of Teen Volunteers and serves on the leadership committee for the Norman Fellowship of Christian Athletes. In the community, Couch has volunteered with the Special Olympics, Norman Health for Friends Clinic, Josh Heupel's 14 Foundation and the First Baptist Church Community Ministry. He plans to major in biochemistry/pre-medicine at either Baylor University or the University of Oklahoma.
Sarah Daggett
Union High School
A National Merit finalist and Advanced Placement Scholar with Distinction, Daggett is the Oklahoma Coaches Association's Scholar Athlete of the Year for her region. At Union, she is a four-year letterman on the varsity cross country and track teams, and has earned state championships in the 3200 and 1600 meter races. She is a member of the National Honor Society and serves as the secretary for the Kiwanis Educated Youth. She is a recipient of the Jenk Jones Essay Scholarship. Daggett plans to major in biomedical engineering.
Cierra Daugherty
Miami High School
An Oklahoma Regents Scholar, Daugherty is valedictorian of her senior class. She is captain of the soccer team and was named an All-District player in 2010. She is a member of the National Honor Society and Key Club and serves as an executive member of the Spanish club. Daugherty also serves on the Miami High School Advisory Council and is actively involved in her church. She plans to attend the University of Oklahoma as a pre-pharmacy major.
Arthur Dixon
Ardmore High School
A National Merit finalist and Advanced Placement Scholar with Distinction, Dixon is a class valedictorian. He is captain of the Ardmore High academic team and reporter for the international club. He is a member of the drama club and science club and active in the Pride of Ardmore marching and concert bands. Outside of school, Dixon serves as the public relations writer for the Noble Foundation's “Legacy” magazine, is a song and script writer for a local summer youth theater, and provides book reviews for “Voice of Youth Advocates” magazine. He plans to major in history at the University of Oklahoma.
Farra Dykes
Morris High School
Named a University of Oklahoma Honor Scholar, Dykes is valedictorian of her senior class.
She is vice president of the National Honor Society and a member of the Spanish club; Family, Career and Community Leaders of America; and the Gifted and Talented program. Dykes volunteers with a local homeless shelter and served as a People to People student ambassador to Europe in 2010. She plans to major in journalism at the University of Oklahoma.
Elizabeth A. Fairless
Charles Page High School
A National Merit finalist and Advanced Placement Scholar, Fairless is a two-time qualifier for both the state and national speech and debate tournaments. The Sand Springs resident is the recipient of the Cole Murdoch Award for Leadership in debate. At Charles Page, she is president of the varsity debate team, captain of the academic team, and a member of the Young Democrats Club and National Honor Society. Fairless is also a tutor in algebra, science, geometry and English. She plans to major in neuroscience at Dartmouth College.
Forrest Farjadian
Claremore High School
A National Merit finalist and Advanced Placement Scholar with Distinction, Farjadian is captain of the 6A state champion academic team. At Claremore, he is vice president of the Technology Student Association and has won numerous state and national technology medals. He is a member of the Spanish club, Young Democrats, National Forensics League, National Honor Society, and a book club discussion leader. Farjadian plans to continue his studies next year at the University of Tulsa.
Nathan David Forest
Locust Grove High School
The recipient of an Oklahoma State Regents Academic Scholar Award, Forest is valedictorian of his senior class. He is a member of the Student Council, Business Professionals of America, Fellowship of Christian Athletes and the academic team. He also plays varsity basketball and golf. In the community, Forest volunteers with the Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma, the Oklahoma Special Olympics and is active in his church youth group. He plans to pursue a pharmacy degree at Southwestern Oklahoma State University.
Kristin Foringer
Edmond North High School
A National Merit finalist and Advanced Placement Scholar with Distinction, Foringer is a U.S. Presidential Scholar candidate. She is president of her school’s National Honor Society chapter, a member of the woman's chorus and serves as a freshman advisor. Foringer is a member of the State Superintendent's Student Advisory Council and has served as a peer leader at the State Regents' Summer Science Academy. She plans to major in economics at Rice University.
Haley Freeland
Pauls Valley High School
A class valedictorian, Freeland is also a student at the Oklahoma School of Science and Mathematics Regional Center. She is president of Business Professionals of America, senior class treasurer and the recipient of the Outstanding Student in Biology Award. A 2010 Girls State delegate, Freeland volunteers as a library aide at Whitebead Elementary School and has also volunteered for Special Olympics and the Blood Bank. She plans to continue her studies at the university level next year.
Bryce Fugate

An Advanced Placement Scholar with Honor, Fugate is captain of the academic team and was named a 2011 Academic Team All-Stater. He is president of his senior class, vice president of the National Honor Society, president and co-founder of the Spanish club, and serves as a peer tutor. Outside of school, Fugate is the assistant coach for a recreational soccer team and is a member of the State Superintendent’s Student Advisory Council. He plans to major in microbiology at the University of Oklahoma.
Rajat Ghosh
Norman North High School
A National Merit finalist, Ghosh is the recipient of the United State Achievement Academy’s National Service and Leadership Award. Ghosh is a state champion soccer player both for Norman North and a competitive club team. He is a member of the National Olympic Development Program soccer team, which advanced to the U.S. Youth Soccer National Championship finals in 2010. At Norman North, Ghosh is president of the National Honor Society and is sports editor for the school newspaper. He is a member of the National Society of High School Scholars, Mu Alpha Theta math honor society and Mensa. He plans to continue his studies next fall as a chemical engineering major.
Cole Griffin
Jenks High School
A National Merit finalist, Griffin is a Wendy’s High School Heisman winner and an OSU College of Engineering, Architecture, and Technologies scholar. At Jenks, he plays varsity football, is president of Drug Free Youth, vice president of the National Honor Society, and a member of the guidance office team, SAFE team and international club. Outside of school, Griffin volunteers as a Special Olympics coach, serves as a student instructional leader, and is active in his church’s leadership project and missions work. He plans to attend Oklahoma State University and major in architectural engineering.
Rijul Gupta

A National Merit finalist, Gupta has competed in state and national speech and debate tournaments. He is president of the National Forensics League and a member of the National Honor Society and academic team. Gupta has played piano for eight years and has competed in numerous piano competitions, most recently advancing to the final round of the Oklahoma Music Teachers Association’s Senior Auditions. He plans to study biomedical engineering in college.

A National Merit finalist and Advanced Placement Scholar with Honor, Hibbard is a class valedictorian. She is a member of the National Honor Society and plays in the school band. Hibbard attended the Oklahoma State University Summer Academy on Quantitative Analysis and has received numerous Putnam City academic awards. Outside of school, Hibbard volunteers at INTEGRIS Medical Center and with the Ready for Kindergarten program. She plans to attend the University of Oklahoma, majoring in biochemistry.
Harmony Summer Hughes
Pawhuska High School
Hughes is a National Merit Scholar finalist and received the Most Valuable Student Award from the Pawhuska Elks Lodge. She serves as president of Key Club and as a chairperson for the Leadership Committee. Hughes, a member of Fellowship of Christian Athletes, competes on the Blitz United ’94 White soccer team and is a member of the varsity tennis and track teams. A member of Pawhuska First Baptist youth group, she volunteers with Hearts and Hands, an organization committed to assisting with home repairs for local residents in need. She plans to major in biochemistry at the University of Oklahoma.
Bradley Isbell
Fort Gibson High School
An active member of Future Farmers of America, Isbell received the chapter’s Star Greenhand award and placed third in the state Greenhand quiz competition. He serves as FFA vice president, senior class president and Student Council treasurer. He is also a member of the math and science club, National Honor Society and Oklahoma Indian Honor Society. Isbell has volunteered for Washington Leadership Conference Day of Service, the Native American Cultural Days and the beef cattle livestock show project. He plans to attend Oklahoma State University, majoring in animal science.
Gregory Jones
Broken Arrow High School
An assistant scoutmaster, Jones has earned the rank of Eagle Scout and is a member of his troop’s Venturing Crew. He is a National Merit finalist and participates in the National Honor Society. A member of the Pride of Broken Arrow band, he plays in the wind ensemble, jazz band and saxophone ensemble. Jones plans to major in chemical engineering and music education at the University of Tulsa or Northwestern University in Illinois.
Hannah Jo Kadavy
Perkins-Tryon High School
Kadavy received the Regents Distinguished Scholarship and Daughters of the American Revolution Good Citizen Award. She serves as Student Council president, senior class president, international club vice president, National Honor Society reporter and editor of the yearbook. She is a member of the varsity basketball team and the academic team. Kadavy is active in the Catholic Youth organization and volunteers with the Special Olympics. She plans to major in pharmacy at Oklahoma State University.
Morgan Ashley Kostka
Sallisaw High School
As a member of Student Council, Kostka mentors elementary students through the Big Brothers Big Sisters program. She served as a Girls State delegate and was selected Masonic Lodge Student of Today. Kostka is class valedictorian, senior class president and National Honor Society vice president. She is a four-year member and captain of the varsity basketball team. Kostka plans to major in chemistry at the University of Oklahoma.
Samantha Liles
Sulphur High School
Liles, a dance student and assistant teacher, was named an All-American Cheerleader by the National and Universal Cheerleaders Associations. She was recognized by the Duke University T.I.P. Program and participated in the 2010 London New Year’s Day Parade. She is varsity cheerleading co-captain, senior class vice president, Business Professionals of America president and yearbook editor. Liles volunteers with the Harvest Basket Food Program and serves as youth group leader and Sunday school teacher. She plans to major in finance at Southern Methodist University.
Cassi Jo Loflin
Apache High School
Loflin is a member of the Southwest District All-Conference Academic Team and was named Apache’s 2011 academic team Most Valuable Player. She was recognized as her school’s 2010 Distinguished Math Student and spends time tutoring elementary students. Loflin serves as president of Family, Career and Community Leaders of America and is a member of Student Council. She is active in youth groups at the First United Methodist Church and First Christian Church, and participates in the Methodist church’s 30-Hour Famine Relief campaign. She also volunteers at the local rattlesnake festival. She plans to major in nursing at Cameron University.
Alina Lorant
Newcastle High School
Lorant is the recipient of the University of Oklahoma Thunder Award and the Sooner Opportunity Award. She was also recognized as the Newcastle Chamber of Commerce Student of the Month. She is captain of the academic team and an officer for Student Council and National Honor Society. Lorant is section leader in the Racer Marching Band, a member of the robotics team and manager for the soccer team. Lorant has also had poems published in two national poetry anthologies. She plans to attend the University of Oklahoma, majoring in chemical engineering.
Michael Nolan McCoy
Eisenhower High School
A National Merit finalist and Advanced Placement Scholar with Distinction, McCoy received the Rotary Youth Leadership Award and serves as speaker of the house for Student Council. McCoy, a Lawton resident, is a member of the varsity tennis team and serves as leader of the Blue Body Brigade pep squad. He is also active in the Western Hills Christian Church youth group and is a member of the Western Hills youth leadership team. He plans to major in pre-medicine at the University of Oklahoma.
Austin McCullough
Clinton High School
A National Merit finalist, McCullough is academic team captain, Socrates Advanced Placement Society chairman and a member of Student Council. He is a member of the varsity track and field team, qualifying for last year’s 110 meter hurdles, and serves as president of Fellowship of Christian Athletes. McCullough is an active member of the First United Methodist Church’s youth group, serving as Godsquad chaplain and volunteering with Youth Force to refurbish and repair homes for low-income and elderly residents. He plans to major in physical therapy at the University of Oklahoma.
Megan Vestal McRae
Bethany High School
McRae is vice president of the National Honor Society, class treasurer, a member of Student Council and Spanish club historian. She has participated in show choir for six years and is a member of the dance team. A volunteer with the Metropolitan Library System, she also participates on her church leadership council and attended the church leadership conference. McRae plans to attend Oklahoma State University.
Max Megee
Tahlequah High School
Megee is a National Merit finalist and Advanced Placement Scholar with Distinction. He was also recognized for outstanding achievement in Advanced Placement calculus and physics by the regional site for the Oklahoma School of Science and Mathematics. Megee is captain of the academic team, and a member of the cross country team and soccer team. As a member of the National Honor Society, he volunteers at blood drives, the cancer carnival and food drives. He serves on his church’s youth leadership team and as Bible study leader for the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. Megee plans to major in engineering at the University of Arkansas.
Jonathan P. Michael
Booker T. Washington High School, Tulsa
A nominee for the Presidential Scholars Program, Michael is a National Merit finalist and a member of his school’s state championship-winning Academic Bowl team. He is a member of the National Honor Society and swim team. Michael also volunteers with Tulsa Hub, an organization created to assemble new and used bicycles for needy children and adults who need an alternate form of transportation. Michael plans to major in chemistry or biology at Middlebury College in Vermont.
Paco Moran
Harding Charter Preparatory High School
An Oklahoma City resident, Moran was a 2010 Boys State delegate, serving as city manager and earning a Good Citizen citation. A National Hispanic Scholar, he is a member of the National Honor Society, Wildlife Conservation Club and the Science, Technology, Engineering Math (STEM) Club. He also participates in sailing club and is a member of the tennis and track teams. Moran volunteers at the Community Food Bank. He plans to major in international and area studies at the University of Oklahoma.
Zach Mussett
Valliant High School
Mussett placed second in psychology at the Oklahoma High School Tournament of Champions and second place in the University of Oklahoma School of Engineering competition. He is Academic Quiz Bowl team captain, Spanish club treasurer and a member of the National Honor Society. Captain of the varsity football team, Mussett was named District 3A-8 All-District Offensive Lineman. He volunteers with the Valliant Chamber of Commerce and Valliant Alumni Association. He has also participated in the Special Olympics Polar Plunge and Relay for Life. Mussett plans to major in biomedical engineering at the University of Oklahoma.
Jessica Neal
Duncan High School
An active member of Future Farmers of America, Neal works with horses in the areas of hunting and jumping. She was named the local FFA chapter’s Star Farmer, a finalist for the state Equine Science Proficiency Award and the 2011 Stephens County Junior Livestock Show Breed Champion Berkshire Gilt. She is a member of the national FFA organization and serves as vice president of the local chapter. Neal volunteers at the rodeo for the Winners Circle Booster Club and serves as a Relay for Life team captain. She plans to major in pre-veterinary biochemistry and molecular biology at Oklahoma State University.
Hayden Scott Nunley
Westmoore High School
Nunley, a National Merit finalist and Advanced Placement Scholar, was selected to be an Eleanor Kirkpatrick-Franco-American Fellow, conducting a research project in Amiens, France. He is service chairperson for the National Honor Society, secretary of Youth and Government, and a Student Council senator. He is also a member of the Principal’s Advisory Committee and the academic team. Nunley has volunteered for Winter Wishes, Run for Refugees and Safe Trick or Treat. He plans to attend Oklahoma Baptist University, majoring in pre-medicine.
Stephen Ogle

Ogle is an Oklahoma Academic Scholar and was named a Muskogee Academic All-Star. A Boys State delegate, he is Academic Pursuit team captain, senior class treasurer, Student Council representative and a National Honor Society member. An accomplished musician, he often plays Taps at military funerals and for his school’s Veterans Day programs. Ogle is section leader in jazz band and a member of the Eastern District Honor Band. He plans to major in chemical engineering and pre-medicine at Oklahoma State University.
Raul Orozco
Hennessey High School
Orozco volunteers each year at the local library working with young children during the summer reading program. As captain, he led the football team to the state championship. He is a National Hispanic Scholar, and a member of the Oklahoma and National honor societies. Orozco plans to attend the University of Oklahoma, majoring in pharmacy.
AnnaBelle Owens
Claremore High School
Owens is a National Merit finalist and Advanced Placement Scholar with Distinction. She volunteers as a tutor for students with learning disabilities and serves as mentor to freshmen through the Freshmen Utilizing Zebra Experience. Owens is president of the French club, and a member of the speech and debate team, academic team and National Honor Society. She plans to major in French at the University of Oklahoma.
Thomas Owens
Edmond Memorial High School
Owens, a Boy Scout patrol leader and troop guide, has earned the rank of Eagle Scout. An accomplished musician, he is a percussionist in the school’s drumline and wind ensemble. He also plays the piano for the jazz band and the school’s show choir, Act II. Owens is a National Merit finalist and National Hispanic Scholar. He co-founded the school’s philosophy club and serves with Edmond Memorial’s Swine Week royalty to raise funds for the Oklahoma Children’s Heart Disease Center. He plays midfield and defense for the varsity soccer team and for the Edmond Soccer Club’s recreational league. He plans to major in pre-medicine or engineering at the University of Oklahoma, Vanderbilt or Cornell.
Matthew Richard Ozturk
Keys High School
Ozturk is an award-winning debater and participated in the Hugh O’Brian Youth Leadership camp. He holds several leadership positions, including student body president, Beta Club president, National Honor Society vice president and Mu Alpha Theta vice president. He was recognized as an Academic All-Star by the “Muskogee Phoenix” newspaper and named a Daughters of the American Revolution Good Citizen. Ozturk plans to major in finance at the University of Arkansas or Northeastern State University.

A class valedictorian, Patrick was named an Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education Scholar. She volunteers for Hotdogs for the Homeless and has been a four-year volunteer with Relay for Life, serving as team captain and committee chair. Patrick is an active band member, participating in jazz band and the percussion ensemble. She is a member of Student Council and the National Honor Society. Patrick plans to attend Oklahoma State University, majoring in mathematics.

Pellegrino, a National Merit finalist, has served on the Bartlesville Youth Court as a prosecutor and judge. She is active in the St. John Catholic Church, participating in the youth group and working with children. Pellegrino volunteers for Mary Martha Outreach, an organization serving families and agencies as a regional distribution center for food, clothing and other critical needs. As a member of the varsity tennis team, she qualified for the 2011 state tennis championship. Pellegrino plans to major in political science at the University of Dallas.

Pilehvar was the keynote speaker at this year’s Martin Luther King Jr. prayer breakfast in her hometown of Midwest City. She is a National Merit finalist and served as a Supreme Court justice at Girls State. She is yearbook editor, Key Club vice president, National Honor Society president and a member of the cross country team. She is active in the community, volunteering for Hot Dogs for the Homeless, Habitat for Humanity and the Regional Food Bank. Pilehvar plans to major in English at the University of Oklahoma.

Prasad is a National Merit finalist and Advanced Placement Scholar with Honor. She tutors other high school students and founded a free summer learning program for inner-city and Edmond students. Active in Young Democrats, Prasad has volunteered with national, state and local campaigns. She participates in mixed and women’s choirs, and is a three-year member of the Oklahoma Music Educators Association All-State Mixed Choir. She is yearbook editor, senior class president, and vice president of the environmental and community service clubs. Prasad plans to continue her studies in pre-medicine at Harvard University.

The Oklahoma City resident is active in the India Cultural Foundation’s youth group and volunteers at the food bank and Manos Juntas Clinic, an outreach of Fundación Manos Juntas that provides healthcare to the needy. Pruthi is co-president of Mu Alpha Theta math honor society and active in Key Club, the National Honor Society and Earth Club. He is a member of the tennis and cross country teams. Reidlinger is an All-State choir member and a six-year member of the Western Oklahoma Honor Choir. She also participates in the Boomer Expressions choir, the First Christian Church’s praise band and Woodward’s community theater. A member of Cultural Exchange Club, Reidlinger was selected as a Wings of Rotary exchange student to Japan. She was also selected by the United Methodist Church to be a delegate for the United Nations/Washington, D.C., educational tour. She is president of the Technology Student Association, a member of the National Honor Society and art club, and a volunteer for the local food pantry and pregnancy center. Reidlinger plans to major in pre-medicine at the University of Oklahoma.

A class valedictorian, Robertson is a recipient of the National Merit Letter of Commendation. An accomplished musician, she is a two-year member of the Oklahoma Music Educators Association All-State band and serves on her school’s band leadership team. Roe is a National Merit Scholar finalist, an Oklahoma State Regents Scholar and an Advanced Placement Scholar with Honor. An Oklahoma City resident, he participates in TEAM+S (Tests of Engineering in Math and Science) and is a member of Mu Alpha Theta math honor society. Through a school computer science research program, Roe has designed a website that teaches students the programming language Oz. He also was selected to attend the Engineering Innovation Program at Johns Hopkins University. Roe volunteers for the Metropolitan Library and is a math tutor. He plans to major in computer science at Rice University.

Rogers was named All-Conference MVP in varsity basketball and also participates in soccer and track. She is secretary of her senior class and active in Student Council, math club, Leadership Council and National Honor Society. She is the recipient of numerous top-student honors at Mannford High and was honored as Student of the Month. She participated in community fundraising projects to support the Mannford Food Pantry, Santa Project and Meals on Wheels. Rogers plans to major in pre-medicine at John Brown University in Arkansas.

A class salutatorian, Ross is a National Hispanic Scholar and Advanced Placement Scholar with Distinction. He has been a delegate to Boys State and Model United Nations. Ross participates in Student Council, National Honor Society, Link Crew and multicultural club. A letterman in varsity track and cross country, Ross holds the school record in 800 meter, 1600 meter and 4x800 meter races. He will be the first generation in his family to attend college and plans to study medicine.

Rowe is an Advanced Placement Scholar, National Merit Commended Scholar and a candidate for the U.S. Presidential Scholars Program. He is captain of Westville’s academic team and a section leader in the band. He also participates in National Honor Society, National Society of High School Scholars and Oklahoma Indian Honor Society. Rowe plays eight different instruments and composes his own music. He also enjoys studying languages, including Spanish, German, Russian and Cherokee. Rowe plans to study multilingual communications at Oklahoma Baptist University. His sister, Jessica Rowe, was a 2008 Academic All-Stater.

An Oklahoma Academic Scholar, Rudkins is captain of the football team and an All-Star football player. He was named All-District offensive lineman MVP in 2010. He is vice president of his senior class and the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. He also participates in the Superintendent’s Advisory Board, math club and Junior Main Street. He volunteers for the Gen. Tommy Franks Leadership Museum and for local cancer patient benefit dinners. A young entrepreneur, he purchased and renovated a house to lease and also raises and sells his own cattle. Rudkins plans to major in engineering at the University of Oklahoma.

Rui is a National Merit Scholar and the recipient of the U.S. Presidents Volunteer Service Award, which recognizes individuals for more than 100 hours of community service. Rui is a teen volunteer for the Norman Public Library and secretary of the French club. She has also been a children’s summer art camp volunteer. A native of China, Rui plays the Guzheng, a traditional Chinese instrument. In 2009, she was a gold medalist in the Grand Canyon State Games National Essay Contest. Rui plans to study biochemistry in college.

A class valedictorian, Sacket is captain of his academic bowl team and participates in speech, drama and band. He has been a Boys State delegate a member of the Red Carpet Honor Band. He was a member of the Regional One-Act All-Star Cast and earned second place state honors in foreign extemporaneous speaking and fourth place state honors in cross-examination debate. Sacket plans to study computer science at Northwestern Oklahoma State University.

Sawh is a class valedictorian, Advanced Placement Scholar with Distinction and Presidential Scholar nominee. She is secretary of service for the National Honor Society and has been the orchestra council representative her sophomore, junior and senior years. She is president of her Girl Scout troop and has earned her Bronze, Silver and Gold Awards in scouting. She was an Odyssey of the Mind World Finalist in 2009-10 and earned a Rotary Youth Leadership Award. Sawh volunteers for Coffee Creek Riding Center for Therapeutic Horsemanship, the Hope Center of Edmond and Free to Live. She is still exploring her college options.

Shipp is senior class president and the founder and chair of her high school recycling club. She is vice president of the Junior Chamber of Commerce, treasurer of calculus club and captain of varsity track. She earned first place in Spanish at the Tournament of Champions of Oklahoma and won the 2010 State Championship in discus. Shipp volunteers as a tutor for Spanish-speaking students and also reads books for elementary student. She has traveled on mission trips to New Orleans and Seward, Alaska. Shipp plans to major in international business at the University of Oklahoma.

He was awarded Blackwell High School’s highest honor, the Maroon Spirit Award, which recognizes academic and extracurricular achievements. Shoffner has served two years as class president and two years as captain of the Quiz Bowl team. He has also been captain of the basketball team and active in track. He is active in the Blackwell Church of Christ, and has been a People to People Youth Leadership Delegate and Student Rotarian. An accomplished athlete, she was named to Oklahoma Fast-pitch All-State in 2009 and 2010 and Slow-pitch All-State in 2009. She has participated in many livestock exhibitions and was 2010 winner in the Oklahoma Electric Association of Cooperatives Washington, D.C., Youth Tour Contest. She plans to major in geology at Oklahoma Christian University.

Song is the president of Key Club and active in orchestra and National Honor Society. She has been named to Oklahoma Youth Orchestra, All-State Honor Orchestra and the North Central Honor Orchestra. She was also selected for the Oklahoma Summer Arts Institute Orchestra. Song volunteers at Korean Culture and Language School, where she serves on the newspaper staff. She is also an admissions volunteer at Deaconess Hospital. She has attended several Oklahoma State Regents summer academies in math, science and engineering. Song plans to major in biomedical engineering.

An Advanced Placement Scholar with Honor, Southard is a three-year letterman in academics and winner of the Carolyn Bagby Composition Award. She is drum major in band and captain of the cross country team, qualifying at the state level for the past four years. She also participates in the academic team, multicultural club and National Honor Society. She is a math camp volunteer and math tutor. She has been a teaching assistant at the Northern Oklahoma Flight Academy for three summers. Southard plans to major in aerospace engineering in college.

Stanley is president of the chess club and helped Harrah High School earn the State Chess Championship in his grade-level last year. As a member of Mu Alpha Theta math honor society, he helped lead a math tutoring program at a local elementary school. Stanley also participates in Key Club, National Honor Society and Business Professionals of America. He has volunteered for Regional Food Bank and Harrah Helping Hands. In addition to taking honors courses in high school, he is concurrently enrolled in courses at Rose State College. Stanley plans to major in computer engineering at the University of Oklahoma.

Stewart is co-valedictorian and a National Merit commended student. She is vice president of National Honor Society and active in Student Council and Fellowship of Christian Students. She plays competitive soccer, varsity tennis and varsity basketball and was named MVP in basketball for two years. She is an active member in New Life Church of the Nazarene and participates in many community service projects through her church youth group. Stewart’s older sister, Rachel, was an All-Stater in 2009. Stewart plans to major in premedicine at Southern Nazarene University in Bethany.

She has signed a letter of intent to play golf for Oklahoma City University. Swisher has been a Girls State and Rotary Youth Leadership delegate. She has volunteered for Special Olympics, Habitat for Humanity and the American Red Cross, as well as coaching elementary students in golf. She plans to major in nursing at Oklahoma City University.
