We seek nominations from across the state in three categories:

  1. Academic All-State honors 100 public high school seniors with a $1,500 scholarship and honors their high schools with an Academic All-State flag to mark their commitment to academic excellence. Students must be nominated by their superintendent or principal. Schools are encouraged to nominate all eligible students. Many Academic All-State Alumni remain active in foundation activities such as the Schusterman Mentor Program and work to help improve public education in our state.
  2. The Oklahoma Medal for Excellence in Teaching and Administration honors four educators (a public school elementary, secondary, and college or university teacher, and an elementary or secondary administrator) with a $7,500 cash award and a sculpture designed specifically for this award. A $1,000 cash award is also given to each of the four educators' schools. Both individuals and schools are eligible to nominate educators. The Circle for Excellence has been established by previous award winners to speak out for excellence in our schools.
  3. The Oklahoma Medal for Excellence in Alternative Education honors an outstanding public school alternative education program with a $7,500 award for program support and a sculpture designed for this award. Both individuals and schools may nominate alternative education programs.

All honorees are selected by an independent committee of distinguished Oklahomans, chaired by Oklahoma Supreme Court Justice Marian P. Opala. Nominators will be notified in January of the receipt of their nominations. Please read all instructions carefully. Only those nominations that meet the stated requirements can be considered.
