Planning a Colonial Day Event?
Let Us Know

We want to hear about your Community Colonial Day. Please email bwheelock@ofe.org to let us know when and where your event is being held so we can track the success of this online service. We also welcome photos, video, or other resources we can add to this web site to help other teachers. We appreciate your input. Thank you!

Small Group Activities

In addition to large group activities, Colonial Day at the Capitol has offered smaller, interactive sessions for groups of 15 to 30 students. These 30- to 45-minute sessions are developed and presented by teachers on a variety of topics pertaining to 18th century life and the Revolutionary War.

At our Colonial Day event, teachers present their sessions two or three times over the course of the day to accommodate as many students as possible. Here are samples of small-group activities that teachers have led at Colonial Day at the Capitol: A teacher leads a small group activity during Colonial Day.
