Communications and Program Outreach Specialist (Part-Time)

Position Location: Downtown Oklahoma City

The Oklahoma Foundation for Excellence is seeking an experienced graphic design and communications professional for a part-time (24 hours per week) position as a communications and program outreach specialist. This position would work in conjunction with the foundation’s director of communications and development in promoting the foundation’s mission and its programs. Responsibilities would include designing foundation publications and other marketing materials, including newsletters, brochures, fundraising appeals, event pieces and PowerPoint/Prezi presentations; updating graphics and content on the foundation’s website; social media management; and administering and promoting teacher grant programs.

Job requirements: Two or more years’ experience in graphic design (Adobe Creative Suite), website administration and social media; outstanding communications and organizational skills; knowledge of public relations writing and AP style a plus. Position also requires some public speaking and working with teachers to promote and administer our teacher grant activities.

The Oklahoma Foundation for Excellence, founded in 1985 by then U.S. Sen. David L. Boren, is a non-profit organization dedicated to recognizing and encouraging academic excellence in Oklahoma’s public schools. The foundation annually awards $125,000 in awards and scholarships through its prestigious Academic Awards Program. Other programs include Local Education Foundation Outreach, Colonial Williamsburg Teacher Institute Grants, Professional Development and Fund for Teachers Grants, and the Boren Mentoring Initiative.
