Mentor Training
Mentor training and orientation sessions can help potential mentors become more familiar with their roles and responsibilities and how they can work with students. The following individuals are available to speak to volunteers or assist with developing a training program and materials.

MENTOR/National Mentoring Partnership’s web site provides detailed information about mentoring as well as an electronic training manual, Community Mentoring for Adolescent Development, a publication originally developed by Baylor University that has been revised and updated by MENTOR.Evaluation Management Training provides curricula developed for regional training symposiums. These resources include Best Practices for Mentoring Programs developed by Jerry Sherk and Designing An Effective Training Program For Your Mentors developed by The EMT Group, Inc.
The California Department of Alcohol and Drug Programs provides mentoring training resources through the Mentor Technical Assistance Project.
