Mentees: New Candidate Associates
Danielle Nickell, a Lawton senior accounting major in the University of Oklahoma Price College of Business, serves as director of Peer Trainers for the JCPenney Leadership Center. In her role as director, Nickell is a “mentor of mentors,” not only providing training and guidance to peer mentors but also to their 62 new candidate associates.
“Danielle empowers the organization’s Peer Trainers to realize their potential as leaders and mentors,” said Breea Clark, director of the JCPenney Leadership Center. “She is committed to her role, displaying dedication and hard work in every aspect, and genuinely caring about the success and well-being of those she mentors.”
The JCPenney Leadership Program has a reputation among the business community and company recruiters for continually producing professional, well-rounded and culturally competent associates who are prepared with the skills they need to succeed in business.
“This would not be possible without Danielle in her role as the director of peer trainers,” Clark said. “She gives the peer trainers the materials, experiential knowledge and support they need to succeed so they can mentor new members.”
Clark praised Danielle for the generous time she puts into her volunteer role, in addition to juggling a full course load and two part-time jobs.
“Danielle is an inspiring mentor and puts so much time and effort into her role,” shared Clark. “Helping those she mentors, answering their questions, and putting their needs first is always at the top of her priority list. She does it all with a smile on her face!”
About the Program: The JCPenney Leadership Center has several programs focused toward developing organic and natural mentoring relationships.
