BEST! Mentoring, Cache Schools Education Foundation
Years Matched: Two
John Albright is not only recognized as a dedicated youth mentor in his pairing with R.J. through the BEST! Mentoring program in Cache, but also as a mentor through his church, youth camps, and an after-school archery program he founded.
“John definitely has a heart for our youth,” said Rhonda Clemmer, BEST! Mentoring program director. “He is committed to giving back to his community, and BEST! Mentoring is lucky he shares his time with us. Southwest Oklahoma is definitely a better place because of John Albright.”
Albright and mentee R.J. share a special bond. They both love martial arts and attend the same martial arts academy. They enjoy playing games and are very competitive, Albright is the checkers champion, while R.J. is the Battleship champion. Lunch time together is another favorite activity for the pair.
“John brings consistency and a positive attitude to R.J. each week,” shared Clemmer. “He is a constant, attending every group activity and weekly mentoring session without fail. R.J. looks forward to their time together each week. John is certainly an example of what kindness, love, and commitment look like for mentees and mentors alike.”
Albright is the owner and operator for Albrights Heating and Air Conditioning in Indiahoma. He has been praised for helping expand the BEST! Program into other small schools in his region.
