Counselor Aide at Camp DaKaNi
Lexi Arnold has been a stand-out leader at Camp Fire Heart of Oklahoma. A summer camp Counselor Aide, Arnold has been a mentor to many younger campers at Camp DaKaNi. A resident of Edmond, Arnold attends Cimmarron Middle School.
“Lexi treats campers with kindness, patience and maturity,” said Teen Programs Engagement Coordinator Darla Kilhofer. “She has set a wonderful example through her humble service, responsibility and leadership.” Both reliable and responsible, Arnold is always willing to help. Whether comforting a camper who is upset or teaching kids a new game, she shows campers that they are seen and cared for.
Arnold also serves on the Camp Fired UP Teen Committee, helping plan and lead events for kids at the organization’s annual fundraiser. She demonstrated commitment and leadership by choosing to contribute to Camp Fire Heart of Oklahoma in practical ways.
“Lexi is someone you can count on,” Kilhofer added. “She has proven time and time again her love for making a difference in the lives of children in the community.”
Arnold said being a counselor aide at Camp DaKaNi has helped her grow as a person and gain confidence that she can make a difference. “Helping kids have fun at camp and leading them in activities has shown me that even the little things I do can make a person smile,” Arnold said.
About the Program: Through after school clubs, youth leadership, camps and outdoor activities, Camp Fire provides opportunities for young people to find their spark, lift their voice and discover who they are.
