Mary Beth Buchanan is a Tri County Tech employee who provides great support to the Lowe Family Young Scholars Program, giving constructive feedback to mentees and setting a wonderful example for the students involved in the program. Buchanan has been a mentor to Mariel for the past two years.
“Mary Beth has been an absolute blessing; she has such a big heart” Mariel shared. “Mary Beth pushes me to be a better person, she gives me advice and is all ears about anything I want and need to talk about. She helps me through school and work. I couldn’t have had a better mentor than Mary Beth. I’m so thankful she is my mentor.”
Buchanan and Mariel have formed a strong and supportive bond. Mariel likes to go out to eat with Buchanan and do other activities, like visiting museums.
“Mary Beth has been a constant positive force in both her mentee’s life and as a support to our organization,” said Lowe Family Young Scholars Administrative Assistant Kristin Towns. “She is so kind and giving of herself and her time.”
About the Program: The Lowe Family Young Scholars Program provides academic-focused, community-based mentoring to students in grades 6 through 12.
