Oklahoma Mentor Day Update

We are sad to report that Beverly Woodrome has stepped down as the director of our mentoring initiative. We appreciate tremendously all that Beverly has done to promote quality youth mentoring, to help start new mentoring programs, and to provide guidance for mentoring organizations throughout Oklahoma.

Under these circumstances, we have decided to cancel the 2020 Oklahoma Mentor Day. We appreciate the efforts many of you have made to submit your organizations’ Outstanding Mentors. We believe it is very important to recognize and honor those caring mentors for their impact on the youth they serve and in their communities.

During National Mentoring Month in January, the Oklahoma Foundation for Excellence will honor those outstanding mentors, sending certificates to each honoree’s mentoring organization to present to the Outstanding Mentor. We will highlight the recipients on our website, in social media and other hometown publicity.

We share your disappointment that there won’t be an Oklahoma Mentor Day in 2020, but look forward to planning a very special event for 2021 and resuming our other mentoring activities once we have a new Mentoring Initiative director in place.

Thank you for all you do to provide a brighter future for young people in Oklahoma!
