President Cathryn Render

Tulsa market research vice president and community leader Cathryn Render has been named president of the Oklahoma Foundation for Excellence, a charitable organization that recognizes and encourages academic excellence in Oklahoma's public schools.

Render has served as vice president of RVA Market Research since 1995. Among her many civic and community activities, she has chaired numerous programs for Tulsa Global Alliance, most recently serving as Board Chair, and has led various committees as an alumnae of Leadership Oklahoma.  Render has been honored as a distinguished volunteer for Sister Cities International, received the Mayor’s Certificate of Recognition from Tulsa Global Alliance, and was named the 2013 Tulsa Panhellenic/Pi Beta Phi Woman of the Year. She is a strong advocate for public education, having led parental support of bond elections, co-founded a local education foundation, and volunteered and organized mentoring and literacy programs within local schools.

“I believe Oklahoma’s educational focus is the key to our future, and robust support for education is critical,” Render said. “I appreciate the exemplary work of the Oklahoma Foundation for Excellence in pursuing academic excellence, and I am eager to assist foundation leadership in developing strategies for strengthening program focus and broadening public support.”

Render joined the Oklahoma Foundation for Excellence board in 1997 and is active on both its executive and management committees. Throughout her tenure as a trustee, she has served on nearly every foundation committee, from fundraising and local education foundation outreach to Academic Awards Banquet and mentoring programs. In 2014, she was honored with the Oklahoma Foundation for Excellence Distinguished Service Award recognizing her work in the design of the first major survey on youth mentoring in Oklahoma and for providing in-depth analysis and a final report on the research findings.
