Professional Development Grants for Teachers
Providing quality professional development opportunities to Oklahoma’s teachers is critical to the success of Oklahoma’s students. At a time when school budgets are stretched to their limits and funding for professional development is scarce, the Oklahoma Foundation for Excellence is pleased to partner with state and national sponsors to offer quality professional development opportunities.
Our Teacher Grants for Professional Development provide grants for regional and national workshops, conferences and institutes. Grants help educators cover the costs of registration, travel, lodging and the expense of hiring substitute teachers. Grants are available in specific geographic areas of the state and in specific fields of study, as designated by donors. Localized grant opportunities will be made known as funding becomes available.
We are also honored to collaborate with Fund for Teachers, a national nonprofit organization dedicated to providing grants for teachers who are looking for unique development opportunities customized to their specific teaching objectives and goals. Through this partnership, Oklahoma teachers can benefit from this outstanding program. Fund for Teachers grants provide up to $5,000 for an individual teacher and up to $10,000 for a team of educators for self-designed, summer professional development opportunities in the United States and abroad. The program is made possible through bridge funding from the national Fund for Teachers and additional support from the Tulsa Community Foundation. The Fund for Teacher grant cycle starts October 1 with applications accepted through January 31. Fellows are announced in April.
