Regional Meetings and Trainings

The Oklahoma School Foundations Network hosted regional training and networking meetings in lieu of the Fall Forum for Local Education Foundations state conference. The goal was to help foundation leaders access training support close to home.

Nearly 75 foundation leaders attended regional meetings held this fall in Sulphur and Claremore. The gatherings featured keynote presentations on board development and leadership, group networking excercises, presentations on innovative foundation programs, and panel discussions focusing on effective collaboration between foundation leaders and school administrators.

Robin Callahan, executive director of the National School Foundations Association, delivers the keynote address at a regional meeting in Sulphur.

Panelists (from left) Davis Public School Foundation President Edd McNeil, Davis Superintendent Mike Anderson; Ada City Schools Foundation President Ashley McCortney; and Ada Superintendent Mike Anderson discuss best practices for foundation and district collaboration.

OFE Trustee Ken Busby, a nonprofit expert and CEO of the Route 66 Commission, speaks at the Claremore Regional Meeting for School Foundations about effective board development and leadership.
