Pryor High School senior Tyler Bradshaw recognized for his leadership in LOFT – Leaders of Future Tigers – a service-learning program that pairs fourth- through sixth-graders with high school student mentors to do community service projects, such as visiting nursing homes, sweeping sidewalks or cleaning up litter.
“Tyler is not just a mentor, he is the leader of mentors,” said Evett Barham, Leadership teacher and Student Council adviser. “He has not only impacted his mentee, but other students. Tyler is dependable, calm, consistent and patient – qualities creating a trust within the mentor-mentee relationship.”
Bradshaw and his mentee have volunteered for the local food bank and have made appreciation baskets for city employees. Bradshaw, who has participated in the program for two years, also shares his love of basketball with his mentee.
